On clear, dark evenings between September and April, the sky over Iceland can fill with the northern lights. The sky decides when.

Do you offer trips longer than a day?
No. Viklenders Travel ehf. operates day tours only.
Are tours private?
Private day tours are just for your party. Group day tours are for groups of 9 or more travelling together.
Where do you pick us up?
From your location in Reykjavík, or at Keflavík International Airport, agreed when you book.
Which vehicle is right for my group?
A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4x4 for up to 8, a Super Jeep 4x4 for up to 9 on glacier and river routes, a minibus for 9 to 16, and a premium coach for 17 to 50.
Can you take groups larger than 50?
Yes. We coordinate several vehicles and guides. Contact us early so there is time to plan the day well.
Can a day include free time?
Of course. We balance guided stops with time to explore on your own.
Are your vehicles accessible?
Select vehicles are accessible for guests with reduced mobility. Tell us what you need when you get in touch.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer. The details are in your booking confirmation.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Cancel at least 48 hours before the start for a full refund. Date changes are free up to 7 days before. See our terms.
What if the northern lights don't appear?
You can join a second evening free of charge, or we offer a partial refund. The lights are never guaranteed.
Do you have child seats?
Yes. Children under 135 cm need a child seat; tell us when you book.
Can I bring a pet, or smoke in the vehicle?
No pets and no smoking, please. Tell us in advance about extra or large luggage.
